The history behind ATF goes something like this: Back in
1991, we used to play a game called Doom. We all know that Doom was
the first bigtime FPS game to hit the scene. That's when I (HardPipe)
used to go by the call name (Playboy) and a couple of my friends use to
play all the time via LAN. My friends at the time were ^bdc and Nynja (both
current [=ATF=] members). As the years went by I started playing Half-Life.
I then created what is now Clan [=ATF=]. The reason I used the name was because
I vividly remember the ATF siege on the Branch Davidian Compound in Waco,
TX. It just stuck in my head from that point. Counter-Strike remind's
me of that day. Federal Agents went in to serve a search warrant and a
firefight ensued. In the end, we all knew what happened.
Anyways, I have recruited many of the people that are in the clan
today. I recruited them because of their playing caliber but mainly because
of their demeanor and maturity. I know that many of the clans have a lot
of young kids playing and that’s fine. I wanted to have a clan that
was local to me in the DFW Area (Dallas/Ft Worth for those who don’t know).
I also wanted them to be local and of age so they could attend my local
LAN parties! We do have a few people in our clan that are of YOUNG
age!
Cough* Cough* $hape and Raven! :)
They have proven their skills to be second to none and mature enough
to hang with the rest of us! (Don’t let me down guys). But that’s about
it! It's funny how things seem to just steam roll considering I thought
things would never get this far!!!
